Here is my story

Raised in Oslo, Norway, I was a born mover. My joy of movement could be seen miles away with the big smile on my face after a dance class even from the age of 4. I understood that this was something I had to pursue even when all my friends stopped dancing as teenagers. I later moved to Stockholm to study three years at The Ballet Academy to become a professional dancer and realise my dreams.

About five years later, after dancing in different parts of the world, going to countless auditions and finding my place in the world of art, I hit a wall. Despite reaching my goals I felt that something was not right. I experienced panic attacks, anxiety and felt out of balance. I even stopped dancing and training. But this experience gave me the gift later of seeing what happens on a mental level when we don’t move.

I started searching for a greater meaning in life and another outlet apart from dancing. Movement had been my physical practice to stay in shape, my meditation, my outlet for emotion and creativity my whole life. So the journey continued. I found different meditation practices that I did on a weekly basis. I started strength training again, and the combination of both had a huge effect on my mood, body and overall well-being. One day at a yoga nidra class, I made a sankulpa (a powerful intention) for my future work: I am making a living doing something I love, where I am evolving, I am creative and surrounded by people I feel connected to. Fast forward six months and it was my reality.

I got educated in Pilates, Barre and Garuda at Stockholm Pilates Center and started working there in 2020. In the fall of 2020 I started teaching at Remedy, their holistic sister studio when it opened. This led me to experience the wonders of sound healing and reiki and I got certified within a year.

My passions have always been my compass in life and I continue to pursue them as I evolve. Sharing my knowledge, inspiration and energy wherever I go. My most recent deep dive is yoga nidra. The practice that had sent me down this path to begin with.

With love,

Miriam
