Welcome to bring all aspects of you to this weekend of gathering, presence, exploration, warmth and nature.

We’ll gather together in Österlen at the wonderful, Bäddar och Ängar, to feel nourished and nurtured while welcoming the season of summer.

Being present together in nature in this potent blossoming time. Awakening the pleasure of being alive and a curious + playful spirit.

It is a retreat planned to caretake you as a whole through a variety of practices including; Pilates, Garuda Yoga, Yoga Nidra (non sleep deep rest), Sound bath, Meditation & Journaling.

The Retreat Space

—Bäddar & ängar

  • Bäddar och Ängar, a charming bed and breakfast, is located in the enchanting Swedish countryside (Tomelilla) surrounded by beautiful walking paths and 25 minutes from the farm are the beaches Stenshuvud and Knäbäckshusen.

Gitte, the heart of the farm, has truly created a serene and charming atmosphere. During the retreat we will enjoy morning, afternoon and evening classes in the light-filled yoga room, relax or jacuzzi together in the afternoon. Maybe even take in some crisp fresh country air during walks in the nature surrounding us. Or read, nap; spending your free time however you wish. Coming together again to enjoy nourishing dinners in the orangery.

  • We will have the entire place to ourselves. All rooms have their own bathroom and shower with access to the garden or fields. There are small shared rooms, larger shared rooms and a limited amount of single rooms available.

  • YSTAD (20-minute drive) — Ystad is characterized by medieval cobblestone streets lined with pastel-colored half-timbered houses and sun-drenched squares. Here you’ll find a large selection of museums, original shops and cozy cafes.

KIVIK (25-minute drive) — Kivik is said to be an idyllic fishing village.

SIMRISHAMN (30-minute drive) — Simrishamn is a coastal resort with old fishing traditions, pastel-colored houses and cozy cobbled streets.

ÖSTERLEN is a little paradise located in the south-eastern part of Sweden. It’s often characterized by the beautiful scenery of land, sea and rolling hills, a slower way of life and the friendly atmosphere.

Here you can find beautiful nature & hiking trails like (Backaleden), beaches like (Knäbäckshusens strand) museums, castles (like Christinehof), local food, charming farm shops and quaint fishing villages.

The Magical —Österlen

The Retreat —Ingredients

  • PILATES & GARUDA.

Miriam’s style of teaching is classical pilates as a base mixed with yoga and more contemporary teachings . The result is a fluid class where movement quality is our focus, giving you an efficient and enjoyable way of training your body.

She loves supporting you by giving hands on adjustments, and she has the ability to see everyone in the group, resulting in a safe and efficient (sweaty) class.

Pilates is an excellent workout for the core and overall body strength. You can expect enhanced stability, mobility, stamina, flexibility and balance.

Garuda Yoga combines the flow and spiritual element of yoga with the focus and core of Pilates into a holistic and organic form of exercise that creates calm, mobility and strength.

The fascia, the connective tissue that transmits power between the muscles of the body, is an important focus of this method. Breathing guides you through the movements, activates the body heat and increases energy.

  • YOGA NIDRA, SOUND BATH & REIKI:

Rest is essential for our brain, body and being. Therefore we will dive into several practices to support us and leave us feeling rested: sound bath, yoga nidra (non sleep deep rest) , guided meditation and reiki. We will ease into the evening preparing us for sleep with a special class before we go to bed.

Yoga Nidra is a method of self-care that promotes deep relaxation. Providing permission to find and explore your sensations, feelings, emotions, thoughts and visualisations, all the while remaining in relaxed awareness.

A Sound bath only requires you to lie down and listen while different instruments are being played; crystal singing bowls and chimes. The created soundscapes ease you into meditation, relaxation and daydreaming and often inspires a deep rest, and a shifting of awareness. Some even drift into sleep.

Reiki is a form of energetic therapy that works to soothe and balance your physical, mental, emotional and energy bodies while stimulating deep relaxation, rejuvenation and your body’s own natural ability to heal and recover.

  • Writing is a big part of my daily life and supports me in exploring, processing life and gaining clarity. Therefore I want to weave the practice into my retreats.

During this retreat that can look like having specific writing prompts in a workshop, free writing before a sharing circle or after a session.

You don’t need any experience to try it. And it is of course voluntary. If you feel open to try it - the practice can actually surprise you by giving you answers to questions you might not even know you had.

  • A sharing circle is a safe space for us to gather, where we get to see and be seen, where we get to listen and be heard.

We will explore different themes and it will be a part of our welcoming and closing circle.

There is something magical that happens when we come together and share from an authentic place. Getting the opportunity to be fully present while listening to others.

  • During the afternoon and evening there will be plenty of free time to go to the beach, enjoy the jacuzzi or simply nap, read, relax and enjoy the restful surroundings and nature.

LOVE NOTE — FROM A PAST RETREAT

I am so incredibly glad that I got to participate in a retreat with Miriam.

It helped me shift my mindset and brought me back in harmony ready for the coming season. Which was especially important for me as I was carrying my first child.

The teaching environment & classes were free from prestige, and the focus was on completely tuning into our selves and exploring from there.

The combination of movement practices, meditation and reflection was just what I wanted.

I can highly recommend you to attend any of her coming retreats.

— Louise

Our chef

The food we eat is such a big part of our life. We gather around meals and have some of our best conversations over it. In my opinion offering food that is nourishing and feels nurturing is an essential part of any retreat as well as daily life.

Therefore I am proud to present Hanna, our chef for the weekend.

She has great experience as a retreat chef. It is in fact her 8th time at Bäddar och Ängar. She has an uplifting spirit, loves nourishment, nature & travel and is a yoga teacher currently living in Malmö.
